HISTORY
A great deal has changed in Newport Pagnell since Andrew
Charles Jeweller opened in 1978 but something which hasn't
changed is our reputation for offering quality, value
and service. This business ethic was uppermost in the
minds of Andrew and Christine Lill when they opened a
small shop in the village of Woburn Sands in 1974. Andrew’s
middle name was Charles, hence the company name. The business
gained a solid reputation and was soon attracting customers
from far a field encouraged by the style and quality of
the jewellery on offer.
Andrew and Christine decided to open a second shop and
soon found a prime location in the busy market town of
Newport Pagnell. The shop opened in 1978 with son David
joining the company having worked for a firm of chartered
accountants. The shop quickly established itself as one
of the areas leading independent jewellers.
Some time later the Woburn Sands shop was sold and Andrew
and Christine semi retired leaving David in charge at
Newport Pagnell. After a short illness Andrew passed away
in 1998, and David became sole proprietor. David’s
wife Lorraine joined the business in 2004 along with their
loyal sales team Christine & Shirley, have ensured
that the company continues with its tradition of offering
excellent service and quality merchandise.
